CellMailGraph started as the final project of Laura Garcia-Barrio in the Masters in Interactive Telecommunications I pursued at the New York University (2003-2005).

The project arouse fruit of a combination of different interests in data visualization, cognitive psychology, ambient data, personal applications and specially my will to explore mobile devices as a platform for personal computing.

I am fascinated by mobile technology and the range of opportunities that open up for ubiquitous computing, geolocative applications or social software as technology evolves and the infrastructure allows for broadband applications.

Previous to CellMailGraph, I became interested in portable devices and the development of grassroots movements, and I developed a prototype for a citizen journalism message-based application.

My background and professional experience blend interaction design, digital product design, virtual communities, online resource centers, video documentary making and journalism.
